color splash: yellow

Lately I've really been into the color yellow...and I almost wish we could get married again just so we could have yellow accents like this!


















I also think yellow is such a warm color for homes, especially kitchens! Its just so inviting and happy I think. Here are some yellow room inspirations.

must have: fireplace

Definite must-have. Nothing says homey (is that a word?) like a fire-burning fireplace... I'd love to have a crackling fire during the (few) cold winter months, and I really hate not having one in our current apartment. Also, it doesn't have to be a work of art, but I would like a mantle. If only for the purpose of displaying fun accessories and hanging stockings during Christmas!

must haves...

Ryan and I always talk about what our personal "must haves" are when it comes to our dream home. Ryan definitely has a few... like a large lot, 2-car garage, etc. Mine is a very, very long list...

So, just for fun, every now and then I'm going to start posting what some of my must haves are, and maybe (hopefully) I can even pull Ryan on to my side on a few things :)

I'm feelin it...

...the house itch that is.

Maybe it's because I no longer have a 'project' now that our much-loved wedding day came and went. Maybe it's because I'm ready for our rent to actually serve a purpose rather than just getting thrown away every month. Maybe it's because I'd like to have more space than our 985-sq.ft. apartment. Maybe it's because I'm ready to have a place of our own that we can take care of and decorate however we'd like. Either way, I'm feeling the itch, and I'm even interested in mortgages, interest rates, savings, and other things that I never would have cared about before!

On that note... I'm not sure what this blog is going to be. I think for now, I just want a place that I can post about decorating inspirations, cute homes, and anything else home-related. Who knows, maybe even someday I'll be posting about our house hunt and our future home!

Til then, I'm enjoying the house itch, and I'm really excited about just thinking and planning our future home together!
